In 2003 we celebrated our Centenary Year after the formation
of the original Monton Cricket Club from a small church team. The
intervening years have seen many changes and today our club is
one the leading sports clubs in the Manchester area.
We have one of the best performing cricket teams in North Manchester and in 2005 we joined the Central Lancashire League offering some of the best amateur cricket in the area. Our squash teams play at the highest standard and we count some of the UKšs top ranked players among our members. In the winter months lacrosse is played under the name of Boardman and Eccles, one of the longest established club names in Manchester, and we feature guest American players each season. Lastly, we have four top class all weather tennis courts and a thriving tennis section.
Monton also has a healthy social life where members enjoy a modern and comfortable clubhouse with all the usual amenities. In addition to the members bar there is a function room suitable for up to 100 persons where our resident steward and his wife can cater for many types of functions including weddings and other such occasions.
